Secretariat of Public Safety finds connection between Sinoloa, Homeland Security

February 25, 2012

The Secretariat of Public Safety said they have found evidence that connects a member of the United States Department of Homeland Security to the Sinoloa Cartel. The Secretariat credits the Sinoloa Cartel for the Acapulco Acabay Hotel and Beach Club bombings.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has denied the connection, saying, “At this time there is no credible evidence of that fact and we are unsure what prompted the Mexican police to make that claim.”

Abraham Delshad, a representative for the Secretariat, said the evidence is closed for now and does not know when the details will be released.

Currently, the Mexican police have released extra police forces and are working together with the National Army in both Acapulco and Ciudad Juarez.
