February 26, 2011

According to the Leadership Triumvirate, the protests in Pyongyang’s Kim Il-Sung Square have lessened in recent hours due to the arrival of the Red Cross and distribution of food aid.

“The protests never reached a violent stage, there are no reported deaths or injuries,” the Triumvirate said.

The demands of the protesters were many and varied. The Triumvirate said the government is working hard “to ensure the safety of its people. In due time, our government promises to address the people’s grievances.

The Triumvirate says that many people have already begun to return home.
