North Korea’s New Triumvirate

A new triumvirate now leads North Korea representing the existing power centers of the state. General Putz represents the military, Interior Ministory Koch represents internal security and Foreign Minister Courtney represents the foreign ministry and diplomatic corps.

General Putz has been a member of the government since 1970, most recently serving as a Deputy of the National Defense Commission.

Interior Minister Courtney has a wealth of foreign experience including in Singapore, Jordan and other parts of the Middle East.

Interior Minister Koch has long been a member of the military and has held titles since 1997. In 2010 he was elected as a member of the Party Central Committee.

The new leadership plans to hear and address the concerns of the populace, including possible reform and maintenance of the stability of the republic.
